LNP Releases Traffic Enforcement Update From May July 2025

Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has unveiled its statistical report detailing traffic violations across various locations from May to July 2025, underscoring the agency’s commitment to road safety and accountability.

According to the report, the most notable hotspots for traffic violations included the Monrovia–Kakata Highway, with a staggering 1,321 violations, followed by the Monrovia–Bomi Highway, which recorded 869 violations. Other significant areas included the Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway with 836 violations, and Paynesville, where there were 653 violations.

The report identifies the following as the top ten violation hotspots:

1. Monrovia – Kakata Highway – 1,321 violations

2. Monrovia – Bomi Highway – 869 violations

3. Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway – 836 violations

4. Paynesville – 653 violations

5. ELWA – 633 violations

6. Central Monrovia – 424 violations

7. Bushrod Island – 313 violations

8. Japan Freeway – 289 violations

9. Congo Town – 224 violations

10. Vai Town – 192 violations

In terms of the most common types of violations, improper carrying topped the list with 2,208 cases reported. Other frequent violations included equipment violations (696 cases), reckless driving (525 cases), and disobedience to police orders (489 cases). The full breakdown is as follows:

– Improper Carrying – 2,208 cases

– Equipment Violations – 696 cases

– Reckless Driving – 525 cases

– Disobedience to Police – 489 cases

– Defrauding – 484 cases

– No Insurance – 472 cases

– Improper Stopping – 471 cases

– Driving Without License – 449 cases

– No Registration – 227 cases

– Improper Parking – 150 cases

– Misuse of Lane – 101 cases

The financial implications of these violations are significant. The total value of tickets issued during this period amounted to $161,276 USD and 8,000 LRD. Fines collected reached $$67,639and and 8,362,246 LRD, while $$35,636in fines remained unpaid. Notably, court reductions were applied in 346 cases.

These enforcement initiatives have successfully contributed $USD 67,639.00and 8,362,246.00 LRD to government revenue.
