Longtime Loyalist of Senator Nuquay Resigns After Nearly 20 Years, Cites Ill-Treatment

In a heartfelt resignation that has sent ripples through Margibi County, Lawrence C. Mulbah, a dedicated supporter of Senator Emmanuel Nuquay, announced his departure from the senator’s camp on social media. Mulbah, who has been a staunch ally for nearly two decades, expressed deep disappointment and emotional turmoil in a letter addressed to the senator.

Mulbah, who served as the Mobilization Chair during crucial electoral campaigns, shared his struggles and the painful decision to resign in a public letter posted on Facebook. The letter, titled “Resignation of Loyalty and Support,” reflects a journey marked by devotion and sacrifice, but ultimately marred by feelings of betrayal and ill treatment.

“I write this letter ~ not in anger, not in hatred ~ but with the deepest sorrow I have ever known,” Mulbah began, revealing the emotional weight of his decision. He reflected on his early days supporting Nuquay, recalling how he marched behind the senator’s name with hope and determination, believing in the vision they shared.

However, Mulbah’s tone shifted as he detailed the internal strife he faced, which he attributed to a growing culture of gossip and suspicion within the senator’s circle. “No one deserves to feel unsafe in a home they helped build,” he asserted, highlighting his struggle with feelings of alienation and the pain of being questioned after years of loyalty.

In a poignant declaration, Mulbah emphasized that his resignation was a personal choice, stating, “I am not defecting to another politician. I simply need to focus on God, on my life, and on the future that is calling me to something greater.” He expressed a desire to prioritize his peace and healing over political affiliations.

Mulbah concluded his letter with a plea for respect and dignity, urging Nuquay’s team not to involve him in petty politics. “I am not a threat. I am not at war. I am simply walking away with all the strength I have left,” he wrote, leaving the door open for reflection on his years of service while firmly closing the chapter on his loyalty to Nuquay.

As the news of Mulbah’s resignation spreads, it raises questions about the internal dynamics within the senator’s camp and the implications for future political engagements in Margibi County.
