GBANGOR HILL — A major traffic accident involving two trailers believed to be owned by ArcelorMittal Liberia and a commercial taxi has occurred along the Gbarnga-Monrovia Highway, causing a significant traffic jam in the area.
The incident took place on Gbakor Hill earlier today, according to eyewitness accounts. One of the trailers reportedly attempted to overtake the other while en route from Monrovia when it collided with an oncoming commercial taxi from Nimba, leaving it wedged under the trailers.
Local residents quickly arrived on the scene to offer assistance. While no fatalities have been confirmed at the time of reporting, several individuals, including the taxi driver, sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The accident has brought traffic to a standstill along the busy highway, with drivers and passengers stranded as authorities work to clear the wreckage.
Local officials have yet to release an official statement, and the cause of the incident remains unclear.
