Man Allegedly slashes 8-Year-Old Daughter throat to Death

In a tragic incident that has shocked the community of Keterpu Town, Dolo Town in lower Margibi County, a 27-year-old man, Abraham Mulbah, is alleged to have killed his 8-year-old daughter, T-Girl Mulbah.

The horrific event took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 27, 2024, at approximately 9 AM, when Abraham was alone in his room with his daughter.

During an interview with reporters, Abraham confessed to the killing, stating that he was instructed by a mysterious “night woman,” who often appeared to him as a girlfriend.

According to Abraham, he followed her command, taking a knife and killing his daughter.

He expressed frustration and remorse for his actions against his innocent daughter.

“She told me that I should kill the girl because she came from under the sea and could not see a daughter on earth. After that, I took the knife and cut her throat. No one was around when I did the act,” Abraham recounted.

Reports indicate that Abraham has a history of alcohol abuse and narcotic use, which some believe may have contributed to his actions.

This background has added a layer of complexity to the investigation as authorities and community  dwellers seek to understand the full circumstances surrounding the crime.

The victim’s mother, Yassah Mulbah, provided further details on the events leading up to the discovery of her daughter’s body.

Yassah, who was not home at the time, had made several unsuccessful attempts to contact Abraham to check on their children.

When she finally returned home on Saturday morning, she found Abraham missing.

After asking the other occupants of the house about her daughter, Yassah entered their room to find T-Girl lying in a pool of blood, her throat slashed.

“I tried calling him, but his phone was off,” Yassah explained. “I called one of the men in the house, who said Abraham was sick. When I came home, I asked about Abraham, but no one knew where he was. I called our older son, but he didn’t know either. When I went to check in the room, I found T-Girl lying there with blood all around her.”

Following the gruesome discovery, Yassah immediately contacted the Liberia National Police (LNP) to report the murder of her daughter.

She is now urging the police to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.

Preliminary investigations by the LNP suggest that Abraham Mulbah did not sexually assault T-Girl but instead used a knife to fatally cut her throat.

The body of the young girl has been taken to the Green Pasture Funeral Home in Unification Town, where it awaits further examination pending the police’s investigative report.

In a swift response to the crime, the police arrested Abraham Mulbah at the Roberts International Airport Police Detachment.

He is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

The shocking incident has sent waves of fear and grief throughout the Keterpu Town community.

Residents are calling for a comprehensive investigation and swift prosecution of the alleged perpetrator to bring closure and justice to the grieving family.

Neighbors and community members expressed their horror and sadness over the tragedy. “We are all in shock. This is a peaceful community, and something like this has never happened before,” said one resident.

“We hope the police will get to the bottom of this and ensure that justice is served.”

The case has also drawn attention to the broader issues of substance abuse and mental health in the community.

Local leaders and advocacy groups are calling for increased support and resources to address this concern.
