LOFA COUNTY – A 55-year-old man identified as Oldman Kpakolo is battling for his life after he was reportedly attacked and brutally chopped by an unknown individual in a sugarcane farm situated between Lawalazu and Jallamai Waterside.
According to local sources, the attack occurred earlier this morning in the remote farming area. Kpakolo was later discovered with several wounds and rushed to the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama, where medical personnel say he remains in critical condition.
Authorities have since been informed of the incident. Police in Voinjama confirmed that an investigation has been launched to determine the motive behind the attack and to identify the perpetrator.
Community members in both Lawalazu and Jallamai Waterside have expressed shock and fear over the violent incident, calling on security agencies to increase patrols in the area.
