Gbarnga, Bong County – A man identified as Hanson Flomo in his early 20s has reportedly died in Gbarnga after allegedly using a dangerous narcotic known locally as “Android Spark and Die”, a drug that has gained notoriety in recent months.
According to his father, Mr. Harris Flomo, the deceased had been involved with drugs since 2020, despite repeated efforts by family members to help him change his path. “I sent him to some of the best schools, including St. Martin’s Catholic High School in Gbarnga,” Mr. Flomo said. “But he refused to abandon the use of narcotics. I am deeply saddened by his death and urge other young people to stay away from drugs before it’s too late.”
Health authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death, but the incident has sparked renewed concern over the growing abuse of synthetic drugs in the region.
Hanson Flomo’s remains are expected to be laid to rest today, Sunday, September 14, 2025.
