Harbel City, Margibi County – Ahead of his official induction ceremony scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025, the newly appointed Superintendent of Margibi County, O Jay Godfavor Morris Jr., has embarked on a county-wide community engagement tour aimed at uniting residents and gathering grassroots perspectives.
Morris, whose appointment marks what many are calling a new era of “youthful leadership,” has already visited key communities including Marshall, Unification Town, Harbel, and surrounding communities. During these visits, he engaged with local leaders, elders, youth, and ordinary citizens, listening to their concerns and sharing his vision for the county’s future.
Rising from humble beginnings as a motorcyclist to now holding the county’s top administrative position, Superintendent Morris has promised to make youth empowerment a top priority.
“I will meet with the young people in every sector to hear from them on how we can empower them in their respective areas,” Morris said during a live interview with Verity Margibi Information Boss Emmanuel Kangar on a local radio station. “I’ve already started engaging many young people. I met with the musicians in the county and they shared their challenges. We are working together to solve some of those issues.”
During his community meetings, Morris repeatedly stressed the importance of unity, peace, and cooperation. He believes these values are essential for the collective growth of Margibi and the nation at large.
“There’s strength in unity,” Superintendent Morris told residents during one of his engagements. “Margibians, let’s unite to move our county forward. If we stand together as one people ~ showing love and kindness to one another ~ then Margibi will surely rise.”
The superintendent’s early outreach has been warmly received by residents. In Marshall, Prince Harris praised the approach, noting its novelty and potential impact.
“We welcome his unity message,” Harris told Verity News. “This is the first time we’re seeing an appointed superintendent reaching out to us before his induction. If he continues interacting with his people, he might succeed.”
As anticipation builds for the induction ceremony set to take place in Kakata ~ the county’s capital ~, many are hopeful that Morris’ leadership will usher in a new chapter for the county. Yet, some observers are asking a critical question: can politically divided Margibi finally unite and build itself?
With the theme of unity front and center, all eyes will be on Kakata this weekend as the county witnesses what could be a historic turning point in its development.
