MCC Intensifies Inspections and Revenue Collection Efforts

The Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) says it has launched a rigorous inspection campaign across various business sectors within the city, aimed at ensuring compliance with municipal ordinances.

MCC unveiled that  a dispatched team of inspectors is conducting thorough checks at factories, hotels, motels, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, entertainment centers, stores, warehouses, supply shops, stationery stores, petrol stations, video clubs, and other establishments.

The MCC inspectors are easily identifiable by their uniform, which is a distinctive blue jacket adorned with the MCC emblem on the front and a unique identification number on the back.

According to the Monrovia Government, It is crucial for business owners to verify their credentials before allowing any inspection to proceed.

In addition to the inspection team, the MCC has deployed employees specifically tasked with delivering advance notifications to businesses.

It is important to note that these notification deliverers are not authorized to conduct inspections.

The Monrovia City Mayor urges business owners to disengage interacting with non-MCC workers and do business with properly identified MCC inspectors during the actual inspection process.

“We are committed to ensuring that all businesses operate in accordance with city regulations,” stated in statement released.

“Our inspections are conducted to promote safety, hygiene, and compliance with municipal laws.”

Furthermore, the MCC has streamlined its municipal and solid waste tax payment processes to enhance convenience for residents and business owners.

MCC emphasizes that direct financial transactions with city police officers, revenue agents, or any MCC staff in the field are discouraged.

Any request for cash as an incentive for service delivery should be reported immediately to the MCC authorities.

“We urge all residents and business owners to comply with these guidelines to avoid unnecessary complications,” the spokesperson added. “Failure to adhere to these directives may result in penalties.”
