Monrovia, Liberia ~ The Ministry of Health and the United States Embassy near Monrovia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in the health sector, following a high-level meeting heldbin Monrovia.
Minister of Health Dr. Louise Mapleh Kpoto, along with her Senior Management Team, welcomed U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Amb. Joseph E. Zadrozny for an acquaintance and collaborative engagement aimed at enhancing existing partnerships and identifying key priorities moving forward.
During the meeting, Minister Kpoto expressed appreciation for the U.S. Government’s longstanding support to Liberia’s health sector. She highlighted the Central Medical Store (CMS) as a critical component of health service delivery, particularly through the Community Drug Revolving Fund approach, which aims to ensure the consistent availability of essential medicines at the community level.
Ambassador Zadrozny, in response, reiterated the United States’ commitment to supporting Liberia’s health programs, especially the sustainability of the CMS. He also underscored the need to address the growing challenge of illicit drug use, emphasizing the importance of tackling both the supply and demand sides.
Both parties pledged to deepen collaboration in the interest of building a stronger and healthier Liberia.
The Ministry of Health emphasized its continued dedication to maintaining productive partnerships with diplomatic and international stakeholders to improve health outcomes for all Liberians.
