The Miss University of Liberia Beauty Pageant 2024/2025 is set to launch on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Stella Maris Polytechnic Gymnasium, Capitol Hill, Monrovia. Under the theme “Empowering Excellence,” this event will celebrate young women’s intelligence, talent, and leadership potential from various universities across Liberia.
At a press briefing on Tuesday at the Ministry of Information, Media Consultant Miss Vickjune Excel Wuton announced the official unveiling ceremony, scheduled to commence at noon. She emphasized that the pageant goes beyond beauty, serving as a platform to empower young women to champion social causes and academic excellence.
“This competition is not just about beauty but showcasing talents, intelligence, and the ability to contribute to Liberia’s growth and development,” Wuton stated.
Six contestants representing various institutions will compete for the coveted crown, with significant prizes at stake:
University of Liberia: Miss Vashe T. Weah
African Methodist Episcopal University: Miss G. Cute Kamara
Starz College of Science and Technology: Miss Cherah Doe
Smythe Institute of Management and Technology: Miss Hahame S. Kromah
Notre Dame University of Liberia: Miss Tehillah Jasper
Bluecrest University College: Miss Togbanay V. Dunbar
The winner will receive a car, a scholarship to continue her studies, and a cash prize. Financial support for all contestants is also provided to prevent exploitation and ensure their focus remains on the competition.
“This year’s pageant encourages research and academic engagement, making it distinct from regular beauty contests,” Wuton added.
The event is organized by Tarr Event & Media Consultancy in collaboration with the Liberia National Students Union (LINSU), with support from sponsors such as Lydia Sanitary Pads, Scholarly Path, and KMTV.
