The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), hosted a groundbreaking webinar on March 5, 2025, aimed at providing critical career insights and opportunities for Liberian students and professionals. The event, titled “Careers for Liberian Students: Opportunities at UNESCO and Advanced Studies,” offered participants a comprehensive look at potential career pathways, international job prospects, and professional development within UNESCO.
Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Minister of Education, delivered an inspiring address during the webinar, stressing the importance of young Liberians pursuing careers in global institutions. She emphasized the need for young professionals to contribute meaningfully to both Liberia and the global community. “Securing positions in esteemed organizations like UNESCO is not just an opportunity but a necessity for our young professionals to contribute meaningfully to Liberia and the global community,” Dr. Jallah said.
The webinar featured several distinguished representatives from UNESCO, who outlined various career programs available, such as young professional initiatives, internships, and mentorship opportunities. The UNESCO team also provided valuable insights into the application procedures, qualifications required, and the recruitment process for aspiring candidates. This session was tailored to equip participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to pursue opportunities within UNESCO and other international organizations.
In her remarks, Dr. Jallah reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to preparing Liberian students for global engagement.
