MOE Celebrates the Vital Role of Educators

The Ministry of Education commemorated World Teachers’ Day on October 5, 2024.

The program highlighted the theme “Empowering Teachers for a Brighter Future.” This annual observance emphasizes the significant impact teachers have on shaping Liberia’s future, fostering resilience, and uniting communities.

In her address, the Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, acknowledged the tireless efforts of educators across the nation. “Our teachers are the bedrock of our nation’s progress.

Their unwavering dedication strengthens our education system and weaves the fabric of a more united and resilient Liberia,” she stated.

From the rural classrooms of Rivercess to the bustling schools of Monrovia, Liberian teachers are celebrated as the pillars of national development.

They are not only transmitters of knowledge but also cultivators of hope, patriotism, and intellectual growth.

To further support educators, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to innovative initiatives such as the Rural Teachers Training Institutes and the Center of Excellence for Educational Administration, Certification, Acceleration, and Licensing.

These programs are designed to ensure that teachers are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to inspire and lead effectively.

This year’s World Teachers’ Day serves as a call to action for all citizens and leaders to recognize and support the crucial role of teachers in advancing literacy and fostering unity within Liberia.

As the Ministry of Education leads the charge in empowering educators, it remains steadfast in its belief that their contributions will continue to uplift the nation.
