Paynesville-The Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) will, on Sunday, June 22, host the first graduation ceremony of the Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. Women Empowerment & Vocational Skills Training Program, marking a major milestone in its efforts to promote economic independence among Liberian women.
The graduation ceremony, scheduled to begin at 2:00PM in Paynesville, will witness 40 young women receive certificates after completing six months of hands-on training in Tailoring and Cosmetology.
The program, which is completely free of charge, is a flagship initiative of MOVEE and forms part of its broader commitment to empowering disadvantaged girls and women with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.
The Ambassador Kemayah Women Empowerment and Vocational Skills Training Program was established by the party under the leadership of its Political Leader and Standard Bearer, Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., to address the economic challenges faced by young women in underserved communities. According to party officials, the initiative is rooted in MOVEE’s core belief that economic empowerment is the foundation of national prosperity.
Meanwhile, a day before the graduation, on Saturday, June 21, MOVEE will hold its First National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting for the year at its national headquarters in Paynesville City, starting at 10:00AM.
This meeting is in compliance with Article 19, Section 2a of the MOVEE 2024 Revised Constitution, which mandates the convening of an NEC meeting every six months.
The gathering will be chaired by Ambassador Kemayah and will bring together the 15 county chapter chairpersons along with the 27 central NEC members.
According to a party statement, the high-level meeting will focus on several strategic issues, including a review of the party’s operational and logistical status, restructuring of county structures, evaluation of the party’s current logo, and enforcement of membership dues payment.
The session is also expected to highlight MOVEE’s organizational vision for the second half of the year.
The two major events, the vocational graduation and the NEC meeting, reflect MOVEE’s twin focus on internal party consolidation and public empowerment, as the party positions itself as a leading force in Liberia’s opposition political space.
Meanwhile, MOVEE has reaffirmed its commitment to championing policies and programs that promote inclusive growth, skills development, and responsive governance in Liberia.
