NASSCORP Builds Liberia’s Future through Strategic Investments

In a country where economic resilience and social protection are essential pillars of national development, the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) is taking bold steps to secure Liberia’s future.

Celebrating over 50 years of existence, NASSCORP continues to invest in the country’s infrastructure, healthcare, hospitality, and regional development, an effort that not only enhances its own sustainability but supports the socioeconomic growth of Liberia.

Established in 2003, NASSCORP’s Investment Division was created in line with the 1975 Act of the Liberian Legislature.

The Act authorized the Corporation to “formulate and, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors, implement an investment program” to help fund future benefit liabilities.

Today, the impact of this vision is evident across Liberia.

Headquarters Leading the Charge:

In 2019, the Corporation unveiled its iconic Headquarters on 24th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia.
The modern seven-storey structure, complemented by a three-storey carport and annex currently leased to Loita Capital, is a symbol of NASSCORP’s growing institutional capacity.

Constructed by CESAF Liberia Limited, the building underscores a commitment to creating a strong administrative foundation.

Strengthening the Health Sector:

Recognizing critical gaps in Liberia’s healthcare delivery system, NASSCORP established the Jahmale Medical Diagnostic Center in 2018 at ELWA Junction, Paynesville.

The center reduces the need for overseas medical diagnostic travel and aims to attract Liberian medical professionals abroad back home—an investment that not only saves lives but also builds national capacity.

Regional Expansion and Decentralization

As part of efforts to decentralize its services and reduce dependency on rented spaces, NASSCORP completed its Bomi Regional Office Complex in 2021.

Located in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, this multi-use facility includes a five-bedroom guest house, studio apartments, a manager’s residence, and an office space with a banking premise for lease.

Commercial Infrastructure That Sparks Growth:

NASSCORP has also invested in commercial real estate aimed at stimulating local economies.

The NASSCORP House at ELWA Junction, established in 2014, is a five-storey commercial complex currently leased to the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).

The facility has significantly contributed to property appreciation and economic activity in the area.

Meanwhile, in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, the Ablee Karngar Commercial and Residential Complex (2010) offer both commercial and residential facilities.

Leased to NGOs and private entities, the complex strengthens local economic infrastructure.

Supporting Hospitality and Development in Rural Liberia

Two strategic guest houses-one in Kakata, Margibi County (2009), and another in Voinjama, Lofa County (2012)-address the hospitality needs of government and development partners operating in those regions.

These facilities offer comfortable accommodations and venues for workshops and events, making them vital assets in promoting regional development.

By the Numbers:
50+ years of existence
37 awards and certificates earned
15,000+ beneficiaries served
5,000+ registered entities
200,000+ insured workers nationwide

As Liberia continues its development journey, NASSCORP’s strategic investments are serving as a catalyst for growth.

With a clear focus on long-term sustainability, decentralization, and impact-driven infrastructure, the Corporation remains a vital institution not just for retirees, but for the future of Liberia as a whole.

“NASSCORP is more than social security.

We are builders of tomorrow’s Liberia,” a senior official stated.

From medical diagnostics to regional offices, guest houses to commercial complexes, NASSCORP’s footprint continues to expand-laying the foundation for a more secure and prosperous Liberia.
