The Office of the Media and Communication at the Office of the Superintendent of Nimba County says it has begun consultations to address concerns raised by members of the county’s media community regarding coverage of the ongoing project dedication tour led by Superintendent Kou Meapeh Gono.
In a statement issued Thursday evening, the office acknowledged complaints relating to the selection of journalists participating in the tour and the logistical arrangements surrounding media access.
According to the release, authorities are initiating “immediate consultations” to review the issues and clarify the facts. The office said the process is aimed at strengthening a more robust and transparent framework for media coordination moving forward.
The statement also urged media outlets and journalists across Nimba County to remain calm and professional while the matter is being addressed internally.
“We urge all concerned media outlets and journalists to utilize the appropriate internal channels and options available, exhaust them, and when there’s no remedy before exploring external recourse,” the statement noted.
The Superintendent’s Office further emphasized its commitment to media engagement, asserting that since 1964, no Nimba County Superintendent has provided greater media accessibility and visibility for journalists than Superintendent Gono.
The ongoing project dedication tour forms part of the county administration’s efforts to showcase completed and ongoing development initiatives across various districts.
