Grand Kru County, Persons living with physical disabilities in Grand Kru County have received food and relief supplies from the National Lottery Authority (NLA) as part of its annual nationwide Christmas outreach program.
The donation, aimed at supporting vulnerable groups during the festive season, included 30 bags of rice, gallons of vegetable oil, and cartons of Vita milk. The initiative forms part of the NLA’s ongoing commitment to social welfare across Liberia.
Presenting the items, NLA Marketing Director Kia Gee said the gesture was in fulfillment of the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility and its mandate to contribute to public welfare.
He explained that the Christmas outreach targets all fifteen counties, with a focus on ensuring that persons living with disabilities are included in national support efforts.
Mr. Gee emphasized that the donated items were intended solely for members of the disabled community and should be used for their benefit.
He also highlighted the importance of inclusive governance, noting that government institutions must continue to develop policies and programs that promote dignity, equal opportunity, and access to services for persons with disabilities.
According to him, the donation was made on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, the NLA Board, and management, as a symbol of Christmas goodwill to vulnerable Liberians.
Receiving the items on December 21, 2025, the President of the Grand Kru Disabled Association, Daniel Karmbor, expressed gratitude to the government and the NLA for remembering persons with disabilities during the holiday season.
He noted that many disabled individuals lack adequate family support, making such assistance vital to meeting their basic needs.
Also speaking at the program, Grand Kru County Administrator Alphonso Teah commended the NLA for the initiative and called for sustained support from government and institutions to ensure that persons living with disabilities are fully included in national development processes.
