MONROVIA — Nimba County District #4 Representative Ernest M. Manseah Sr. has dismissed rumors that Nimba politics is dominated by a handful of influential figures, asserting that “Nimba has no Godfather; everyone is a leader in their own right.”
In an exclusive interview with Verity News, Manseah pushed back against reports of a feud between Vice President Jeremiah Koung and Senator Samuel K. Kogar, insisting that disagreements are policy-based, not personal power struggles. “People are confusing policy disagreements with a power struggle. Nobody owns Nimba,” he said.
Manseah Criticizes District #7 Development Efforts
Manseah also criticized District #7 Representative Musa Bility, claiming that despite rumors, little development has reached District #4 from his colleague. “If he brought development to my district, I would appreciate it. But he has done absolutely nothing,” Manseah stated, sparking debate among local supporters.
Self-Funded Development Initiatives
Highlighting his own efforts, Manseah explained that he continues to secure contracts independently to support projects in District #4.
“I am not waiting for the government or taxpayers’ money. I am a professional from the mining sector, and I go out there with my bag on my back looking for contracts,” he said.
He chairs the House Committee on Public Works and emphasized his attention to national issues, including the pending ArcelorMittal MDA and other legislative matters.
Future Plans and Community Support
Regarding infrastructure, Manseah assured that approximately US$1 million will be allocated in the 2026 National Budget for compensating property owners affected by clearance work along the Ganta–Saclepea Ring Road.
He also noted his bill mandating nationwide children’s vaccination through the Ministry of Health as crucial for Liberia’s future.
