The office of Montserrado County District #12 Representative, Hon. Jerry K. Yogboh, has strongly rejected a recent publication attributed to an anonymous group calling itself “Concerned Citizens of District #12,” which alleged that the lawmaker has abandoned his constituents.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the lawmaker’s office described the accusations as “false, politically motivated, and intended to malign the character” of Hon. Yogboh.
“The assertion that Hon. Yogboh is disconnected from his people is intellectually false and politically driven,” the statement said, adding that the claims are “embedded with calculated distortion of facts” and lack evidence.
The office noted that Representative Yogboh continues to maintain close engagement with citizens of District #12 through regular meetings and the establishment of a District Leadership Council, which brings together community leaders and stakeholders to discuss development priorities.
Highlighting his interventions, the statement pointed to several ongoing initiatives:
• Education: Over 300 students are currently benefiting from scholarships and financial aid provided by the lawmaker.
• Healthcare: Hon. Yogboh has partnered with clinics to provide free medical outreach programs and interventions for patients with serious conditions.
• Infrastructure: Projects include the construction of the Swagger Island Market, a multipurpose town hall in Beyan Kesselly Boulevard, bridges in Chicken Soup Factory, and rehabilitation of community roads.
• Sanitation & Electricity: Distribution of sanitation materials and coordination with leaders on electricity restoration in affected areas.
• Youth & Public Safety: Support for community policing and sponsorship of youth sports and recreational programs.
The office expressed disappointment that a media outlet published what it termed a “fictitious story” without seeking the lawmaker’s response, urging journalists to fact-check information before publication.
“Contrary to claims that Hon. Yogboh has abandoned District #12, he remains one of the few legislators who continuously engages his constituency through open forums, town hall meetings, and public dialogues,” the statement stressed.
The office assured citizens that Representative Yogboh remains committed to serving District #12 and remains open to media inquiries for accurate information.
