MONROVIA — The Executive Director of BGS Media & Marketing Consultancy, Political Analyst Abdullah Kiatamba, has criticized the Unity Party-led government for what he described as its failure to create meaningful employment opportunities for Liberian youth.
Speaking on Prime FM on Monday, March 30, 2026, Kiatamba urged authorities to move beyond promises and implement tangible job creation programs. He dismissed recent vacancy announcements by government ministries as “scam” aimed at projecting activity without delivering real employment, warning that frustration among young people is growing.
Kiatamba recommended that each ministry establishes dedicated units to oversee transparent recruitment, skills development, and direct service delivery.
He also raised concerns about the six-month prison sentence handed to Justine Oldpa Yeazeahn, widely known as Prophet Key. According to Kiatamba, the ruling appeared to prioritize personal insult over issues of public interest, particularly corruption allegations, thereby undermining confidence in the judiciary.
“The government must translate its commitments into measurable results that improve livelihoods,” he said, adding that the courts must safeguard citizens’ rights rather than silence dissent.
His remarks reflect increasing public concern over youth unemployment and judicial independence in Liberia.
