Pres. Boakai Says True Service To Country Is Recognized By The Citizens

Monrovia, Liberia— In his opening remarks at the ongoing Cabinet Meeting held at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia, President Joseph Nyumah Boakai Sr. has underscored the importance of serving the people of Liberia while acknowledging the feelings of embarrassment and resistance to change that some may experience. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rescuing the nation, emphasizing that citizens recognize true service, irrespective of outside opinions.

President Boakai shared observations of citizen dedication, recalling a poignant moment when he witnessed a woman braving heavy rains to bring attention to pressing water issues in her community. This dedication, he noted, exemplifies the spirit of resilience that characterizes the Liberian people.

The Liberian President also addressed the prevailing economic difficulties, pointing to the manipulation of prices and inflation by certain individuals. He urged the public to remain vigilant against ongoing agendas that jeopardize the citizenry’s well-being. Highlighting the importance of transparency and proactive measures, President Boakai reiterated that addressing these challenges is essential for the country’s future.

Furthermore, he tackled the frustrations borne from resistance to change, particularly among those who benefit from the existing state of affairs. President Boakai criticized unscrupulous practices, such as the importation of substandard products, including sugar, aimed solely at profit generation. He emphasized the government’s obligation to improve the quality of life for its citizens and encouraged Cabinet members to pursue solutions rather than retreat from difficulties.

As the Cabinet prepares for its discussions, President Boakai stressed the significance of collaboration among members. He urged them to share ideas and take collective action, reminding all present that they share responsibility for the outcomes of their decisions. He called for open dialogue to address and resolve issues, reinforcing the commitment to working together for the betterment of Liberia.

The meeting is expected to cover a lengthy agenda for three hours, but the President’s message was clear: the focus remains on serving the people and finding effective solutions to the challenges that lie ahead.
