President Boakai Appoints Ad Hoc Committee to Facilitate Recruitment of LACC Vice Executive Chairperson

Executive Mansion, Monrovia :-President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has constituted an Ad Hoc Committee to spearhead the process of filling the vacant position of Vice Executive Chairperson at the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).

The decision is in keeping with Section 6.10 of the Amended LACC Act of 2022, which outlines the procedures for recruiting and recommending candidates for this key leadership role.

The Committee will be chaired by the President’s Legal Advisor, Cllr. Bushuben M. Keita, and will include one representative each from the following institutions:

• General Auditing Commission (GAC)

• Governance Commission (GC)

• Liberia Bar Association (LBA)

• Press Union of Liberia (PUL)

• Civil society, represented by an anti-corruption advocate

• Liberia Institute of Certified Public Accountants (LICPA)

• International donor community providing technical assistance in anti-corruption

Once fully constituted, the Ad Hoc Committee will begin its mandate, which includes:

1. Publicizing a call for applications for the position of Vice Executive Chairperson of the LACC.

2. Ensuring that all publications are made in accordance with the LACC Act and the requirements governing the vacant role.

3. Evaluating all applications within fifteen (15) working days after the submission deadline, with particular emphasis on qualifications in forensic accounting and auditing.

4. Conducting interviews of shortlisted candidates within thirty (30) working days, ensuring compliance with legal provisions on gender and county representation.

5. Submitting to the President a vetted list of two (2) candidates for consideration within thirty-five (35) working days from the application deadline.

The establishment of this Ad Hoc Committee reflects the Government’s commitment to promoting transparency, integrity, and merit-based appointments within the nation’s anti-corruption framework.
