President Boakai Mourns Passing of Nimba County Senator Prince Johnson

Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has expressed profound sorrow over the sudden death of Nimba County Senior Senator Prince Y. Johnson, who passed away on the morning of Thursday, November 28, 2024.

In an official statement released by the Executive Mansion and signed by Presidential Press Secretary Madam Kula Bonah Nyei Fofana, President Boakai extended his heartfelt condolences to Senator Johnson’s widow, Mrs. Amira Boyidee Johnson, the Johnson family, and the people of Nimba County.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Johnson family and the people of our industrious County of Nimba. Senator Prince Y. Johnson’s passing is a loss to his family, his constituents, and our nation,” President Boakai remarked.

The President acknowledged Senator Johnson’s significant contributions to Liberia’s history and his service in the Senate, stating, “While we may not have always agreed on the path our nation pursued, we recognize the impact of his work and his dedication to representing the people of Nimba County in the Liberian Senate.”

President Boakai assured the Johnson family of the government’s support in honoring the late senator’s memory and contributions. The statement emphasized that the administration will collaborate closely with the Johnson family, the Vice President, and the people of Nimba County to ensure a befitting farewell for the late lawmaker.

“As the country reflects on the legacy of Senator Johnson, I call on all Liberians to respect this moment of mourning and to keep his family and loved ones in their prayers,” the President added.

The Liberian leader also prayed for peace upon the soul of the fallen legislator and strength for his family during this period of profound loss.

Senator Johnson, a prominent figure, served Nimba County in the Senate and was known for his outspoken advocacy and controversial legacy.
