In a move of protecting females against gender based violence ( GBV ), Vickjune Headliner Wutoh, a renounced Gender Activist has called on the Liberia National Police ( LPN ) to immediately arrest Deputy Minister Bryant McGill over alleged of raping a 14 year old minor.
The gender activist emphasized the importance of holding McGill accountable for his actions, citing medical evidence that indicated he had raped a 14-year-old survivor on multiple occasions. Wutoh expressed concern over the justice system’s impartiality towards individuals with power and influence, urging the LNP to treat McGill like any other suspect.
Wutoh criticized the delays in arresting McGill and warned that if the police failed to take action, citizens might be compelled to seek justice independently. She underscored the need for the rule of law to prevail and for all individuals, regardless of their status, to face the consequences of their actions.
The activist’s statement has drawn attention to the case and highlighted the importance of ensuring justice and accountability in cases of sexual violence. Wutoh reaffirmed her commitment to seeking justice for the survivor and called on the authorities to act swiftly in arresting McGill.
