In a vote held on Tuesday, March 11, members of the Majority Bloc of the House of Representatives decided to suspend Montserrado County District 10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah, for thirty session days without pay or benefits.
The decision followed a report submitted by Representative James Kolleh, Chair of the House Committee on Rules, Order, and Administration. The committee’s findings were based on a formal complaint filed by Representative Johnson Williams of River Gee County, who accused Kolubah of repeatedly insulting colleagues and displaying disruptive behavior.
The Majority Bloc emphasized that the suspension was necessary to maintain decorum within the legislative body and ensure that all members adhere to the expected standards of professionalism. The report stressed the importance of maintaining respect and order, which ultimately led to the suspension of Kolubah.
In response to the suspension, Representative Kolubah dismissed the Majority Bloc’s actions, labeling them as “so so jokers” in a post on his social media. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision and hinted at seeking legal redress in an effort to challenge the suspension.
