In a controversial statement, Rep. Yekeh Y. Kolubah of Montserrado County District #10 has leveled serious accusations against Richard Koon, the Speaker of the Majority Bloc in the Liberian legislature. Kolubah has accused Koon of unlawfully entering his vehicle and removing several valuable items. The alleged theft includes US$25,000 in cash, an iPhone, a laptop, and other personal items.
Speaking publicly about the incident, Rep. Kolubah expressed his anger, stating that his car had been tampered with by Speaker Koon. “Richard Koon has illegally accessed my car and caused damage to it,” Kolubah claimed. He further threatened that if he is unable to retrieve his belongings through legal means, he would take matters into his own hands.
“If the court does not help me recover the items that went missing from my car, I will take action and destroy Richard Koon’s car,” Kolubah warned. He added that his response would be certain unless the situation is resolved to his satisfaction, sarcastically claiming, “If I don’t do it, then my mother is my wife.”
The allegations have created a stir, raising questions about the relationship between Kolubah and Koon, as well as the broader issues of security and trust within Liberia’s political elite. Kolubah has expressed his intent to consult with legal professionals, signaling that he may take formal action to address what he believes is a violation of his property rights.
