Retired 3-Star AFL General says 17,800 army veterans will return to combat if Guinea raises its flag on Liberia’s soil

A retired 3-star General of the Armed Forces of Liberia who was also trained by the Special Forces of the United States, Lieutenant General William Philip Anderson, says over 17,000 war veterans would be in full readiness to make themselves available for any form of combat if Guinea breaches the territorial integrity of Liberia by illegally stepping boots and flag on its soil.

“The President of Guinea must be reminded that any attempt to encroach upon Liberian territory would be a grave and dangerous mistake for both him and his government. The veterans of the Armed Forces of Liberia remain a steadfast pillar of the nation’s defense. AFL war veterans are among the most experienced and battle-tested infantry forces in Africa, and no external force should underestimate their resolve. AFL veteran soldiers will never permit the Guinean Army to raise its flag on Liberian soil,” the retired general said.

Anderson however reaffirmed their fullest loyalty and commitment to supporting President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Liberia.
