River Gee County – [June 29, 2025] – River Gee County Superintendent, Mike T. Swengbe participated in a mournful but historic State reburial and burial ceremony for the late former President Samuel Kanyon Doe and his spouse, former First Lady Nancy B. Doe.

Samuel Kanyon Doe, who served as Liberia’s 21st president, met a violent end during the first civil war, while his wife recently passed away from undisclosed natural causes.

The event was attended by President Joseph N. Boakai and numerous other distinguished national figures, all coming together to commemorate the legacy of the former first couple.

The poignant occasion served not only as a tribute to Samuel and Nancy Doe but also as a moment that promoted national unity, healing, and reconciliation among the diverse participants.
