Liberia — Security presence along the border between Liberia and Guinea has been significantly reinforced as authorities move to prevent any potential encroachment into Liberian territory.
A joint team of personnel from the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), Liberia National Police (LNP), and Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has been deployed to strategic points along the border.
Security officials say the combined forces are tasked with monitoring the area, maintaining order, and ensuring the protection of Liberia’s territorial integrity.
The deployment comes amid heightened tensions reported in some border communities, prompting the government to take precautionary measures to safeguard residents and prevent misunderstandings between the two neighboring countries.
Authorities say the increased security presence is intended to reassure local communities and maintain stability along the frontier while diplomatic engagements continue between both nations.
