This paper has in its possession a trove of registration documents, confirming that Montserrado County Senator Saah Hardy Joseph is set to announce his newly formed and registered political party dubbed “People’s Action Party,” PAP for short.
Joseph, a longtime political ally of CDC Political Leader George Weah, is finally about to take his exit after 20 years of being a diehard partisan of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC).
Saah Joseph, a two-term Representative of District #13 of Montserrado County on the CDC ticket since 2011, became Senator of Montserrado County in 2020 on the CDC ticket. After nearly 15 years in the Legislature, Senator Joseph seems to be eyeing the Liberian presidency in the upcoming 2029 presidential election.
Senator Joseph is poised to finally part ways with the CDC in the coming days as insiders from within the National Elections Commission confirmed to Verity News that the procedures and processes leading to the official formation of the People’s Action Party (PAP) are nearing completion.
With this latest news, coupled with multiple resignations and public dissents from former and current stalwarts of the CDC, political pundits including Sinoe County former Senator Milton Teahjay and former Solicitor General Sayma Cyrenius Cephus have expressed uncertainties and doubts about CDC’s political future before 2029.
This is a developing story.
