Several Protesters in Thursday’s Protest Charged with Multiple Crimes

Several protesters who were involved in Thursday’s sporadic protest have been charged with multiple crimes including criminal attempt to commit murder.

The defendants were charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, criminal facilitation, criminal solicitation, criminal conspiracy, physical Obstruction of government function, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief among others.

The defendants include, Emmanuel Sumo, Korpo Boakai, Gifty Johnson, Elijah Gweh, Christian Perry, Itea Borbor, Varney Wilson, and Lawrence Bessiah.

Others include, Samuel Joe, Joseph Benson, Prince Zammie, Derrick Sekeh, Odonnell Corbin and Alieu Brim.

According to police charge sheet, the protesters damaged properties belonging to private citizens including a vehicle belonging to one Robert Saah worth over US $ 70,000.

The defendants have been forwarded to the Monrovia Central Prison pending court trial.
