Tension is mounting in Electoral District #6, Nimba County, following the fatal shooting of a Burkinabe national in the Dewoblee Forest. The incident, which occurred under unclear circumstances, has sparked local outrage and prompted swift police intervention, including the detention of six individuals believed to be linked to the case.

According to authorities, the victim was reportedly preparing food in the forest when he was suddenly shot and killed by an unidentified gunman. The identity of the shooter remains unknown, but police investigations have led to the arrest of six suspects. Among them is Augustine Gaye, a local resident whom eyewitnesses claim entered the forest on the day of the incident with a single-barrel firearm. However, upon his return, the weapon was reportedly missing.

Gaye has denied any involvement in the shooting, insisting that he has not engaged in hunting for over six months and currently owns no firearm. Despite his claims, law enforcement officials have emphasized that investigations are still ongoing, and all suspects are being held as part of standard procedure.

The body of the deceased has been released to his family and subsequently buried, but the incident has triggered a wave of protests across parts of District #6.
