Monrovia, Liberia – The Chairman of the Solidaraty and Trust for a New Day (STAND), Mulbah Morlu, has sharply criticized the Unity Party-led government ahead of its planned December 6 event, describing it as a “scam” and accusing national leaders of attempting to launder stolen funds under the guise of a political fundraiser.
In a statement posted on social media, Morlu alleged that the event—publicly promoted as a fundraising program—is a “fake” operation designed to “clean dirty, stolen money in broad daylight.” He further claimed the administration had “turned money-laundering into an official party event,” arguing that such activities reflect what he described as widespread corruption within President Joseph Boakai’s government.
Morlu, a vocal government critic, used the opportunity to rally supporters, calling for a nationwide march to the Executive Mansion on December 17. His message ended with the slogan: “LEAD or LEAVE,” a phrase increasingly used by opposition figures demanding stronger governance and accountability.
The Unity Party has not yet issued a formal response to Morlu’s allegations.
