Monrovia, Liberia -September 1,2025
The newly inducted Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitzgerald T. M. Biago, has issued a firm warning to all personnel of the Agency and to those involved in the illicit drug trade.
DCP Biago declared that any officer of the LDEA found undermining or compromising the fight against drug trafficking and distribution will be immediately weeded out of the Agency. “There will be no room for saboteurs within our ranks. You are either with us in this fight, or you will be shown the way out,” he warned.
The new OIC stressed that his leadership will not compromise in enforcing the laws of Liberia against drug traffickers, distributors, and their collaborators. Hemphasizeded that the LDEA under his command will act with full force to dismantle criminal networks and protect the country’s youth and future from the scourge of narcotics.
“Let it be clear—any attempt to undermine this fight, whether from within or outside the Agency, will be met with decisive action. We are taking the battle to the traffickers, the distributors, and every enabler of this deadly trade. The LDEA is now on high alert, and the laws of Liberia will be enforced without fear or favor,” DCP Biago stated.
Biago has also announced a nationwide drug test for all LDEA agents. He made these remarks this morning during the official takeover ceremony at the LDEA Headquarters, vowing to restore discipline, integrity, and operational effectiveness to the Agency
