Tubman University Launches Free Bus Service for Students

Harper, Maryland County — The President of Tubman University, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, has announced a new free transportation program aimed at easing students’ daily commute and strengthening their participation in academic activities.

The announcement, made through the Office of Enrollment Management and Student Services and signed by Associate Vice President (AVP) David Hne Erskine, confirms that the service will operate during Semester II of the 2025–2026 academic year, from March 23 to May 31, 2026.

The initiative will provide daily bus transportation between Harper and Pleebo, two key locations where many students reside. According to the plan, four trips will be made each day, including two in the morning and two in the afternoon, ensuring a dependable commuting system aligned with the university’s academic schedule.

AVP Erskine noted that the initiative is a direct response to persistent transportation challenges faced by students, particularly high travel costs. He emphasized that the program is expected to improve punctuality, increase class attendance, and enhance the overall learning environment.

“Our focus, under the leadership of Dr. Menjay, is to ensure that no student is placed at a disadvantage due to transportation constraints,” Erskine stated. He however added that access to the service will be restricted to students with valid university identification cards and will remain in effect for the duration of the second semester.
