Twenty-One New Police Officers Deployed in River Gee to Strengthen Security

By Ben T.C. Brooks

River Gee County – In an effort to strengthen law enforcement in River Gee County, the Liberia National Police has officially added twenty-one new officers to its team.

The disclosure was made to our Reporter over the weekend by Theophilus Togbah, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Commander of the River Gee unit.

Togbah stated that the strategic decision is intended to boost the police’s ability to ensure public safety and maintain order in the region.

He stressed that the addition reflects the Liberian government’s commitment to tackling the growing crime rates and enhancing community policing efforts.

The deployment of these twenty-one officers is part of a larger initiative aimed at reinforcing law enforcement throughout the county.

According to ACP Togbah, the new officers comprise 12 males and 9 females.

He added that 9 of the officers have already begun their assignments at various locations in River Gee, while the remaining 12 are expected to arrive soon for orientation before being deployed.

However, local residents have expressed their hope that the increase in police personnel will lead to quicker and more effective responses to incidents, fostering a safer community.

The expansion of the police force demonstrates the administration’s dedication to improving security services and building public trust in law enforcement.

As the Liberia National Police continues to grow and enhance its capabilities, the addition of these officers represents a proactive approach toward elevating policing in River Gee, ultimately aiming to create a secure and peaceful environment for all residents.

For his part, River Gee County’s Attorney Fofie V. Kamara has expressed his support for the government’s decision to increase police presence in the county. He has also urged law enforcement officers to remain diligent in their responsibilities to promote a better Liberia.

Despite the heightened police presence in River Gee County, there continues to be a significant challenge regarding logistical support, particularly in terms of vehicles and the inadequate number of bikes. This lack of resources hampers the timely response to offenses in this region of southeastern River Gee County.
