Two Officers Dismissed for Misconduct Following Internal Investigation

(Monrovia, Liberia – August 28, 2025), The Liberia National Police (LNP) has officially dismissed Patrolmen Edwin T. Ceasar and Stephen B. Wanawon, both assigned to the Police Support Unit, following confirmed acts of criminal misconduct, abuse of authority and unsatisfactory conduct.

This action follows a comprehensive internal administrative investigation conducted by the Professional Standards Department, which established that both officers violated the LNP Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards, as well as the Discipline Regulations of 2016.

In keeping with the LNP’s commitment to integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, the officers have been removed from active duty and turned over to the Criminal Service Department for further investigation and prosecution.

The Liberia National Police remains resolute in its mission to serve the public with neutrality, professionalism, and respect for human rights. Disciplinary actions such as these reflect our ongoing efforts to uphold the highest standards of conduct and restore public trust in law enforcement.

We thank the public for its continued cooperation and support as we work together to build a safer and more just Liberia.

Signed:

DCP Cecelia G. Clarke
