The U.S. Department of State has condemned the fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members in Washington, D.C., calling the incident a “brazen act of cowardly, antisemitic violence.”
The victims, identified as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were killed in what officials described as a targeted attack outside the Israeli Embassy. Authorities said the suspect, who is now in custody, allegedly shouted “Free, free Palestine” following the shooting, sparking widespread outrage.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the murder of two staff members from the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. Our prayers are with their loved ones,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a statement. “Make no mistake: we will track down those responsible and bring them to justice.”
The attack has drawn sharp criticism from both American and Israeli officials, who denounced it as an “unspeakable” act of antisemitism. Federal and local law enforcement agencies are jointly investigating the incident.
