The U.S. Department of State has issued a warning to the public about false information circulating online regarding the Diversity Visa (DV) 2027 lottery.
According to the Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, the entry registration period for the DV-2027 program “is not open at this time.” Officials say they are aware of fraudulent websites, individuals, and services falsely claiming that the registration period has begun or that they can improve applicants’ chances of being selected.
“This is not true,” the Department emphasized in a statement. “DV-2027 registration dates and details about any changes to this year’s process will be announced by the Department of State when available.”
Authorities advise applicants to rely only on official U.S. government websites for accurate information about the Diversity Visa program, which provides a limited number of immigrant visas annually to individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States.
Updates will be posted on the Department of State’s official website once the DV-2027 registration period is officially announced.
