A key youth figure within the ruling Unity Party (UP), Printiss Domah, has turned down a request from the party’s leadership to serve as Secretary on its Homecoming and Fundraising Committee in Nimba County, citing concerns about what he described as the party’s lack of meaningful empowerment for young people.
Domah, who serves as Secretary-General of the UP Youth Congress in Nimba County, made the remarks during a live appearance on OK FM in Monrovia, where he expressed disappointment over what he sees as the continuous marginalization of qualified young partisans in the party’s decision-making process.
“If young people our qualifications and credentials cannot translate to any significant means of empowerment, they should never be useful to mobilization for political rallies,” Domah asserted.
The outspoken youth leader’s rejection comes amid preparations for the Unity Party’s planned homecoming and fundraising activities in Nimba, aimed at rallying support and strengthening the party’s base in the vote-rich county.
Domah’s statement has since sparked conversations among partisans and political observers, with some praising his bold stance as a call for accountability and youth inclusion, while others see it as a sign of growing discontent within the ruling establishment.
The Unity Party leadership has yet to issue an official response to Domah’s comments.
