The Copy Editor and Correspondents Supervisor of Verity Media Company, Emmanuel M. Kangar Jr., has been appointed Overseer of Gibi FM 90.9MHz in Kakata City, Margibi County.
Mr. Kangar, widely known for his relentless pursuit of issues and his straightforward, professional approach to journalism, was appointed following a decision by the management of Gibi FM. His appointment was confirmed in a letter dated January 2, 2026, from the Chief Executive Officer of Gibi FM, Hon. Fred P. Weasah.
According to the letter, Mr. Kangar was selected for the position based on his demonstrated leadership ability, integrity, and professionalism. The appointment takes immediate effect.
As Overseer, Mr. Kangar is expected to provide strategic guidance and imaginative leadership to ensure the long-term success of the radio station. His responsibilities include presiding over meetings to ensure they are productive and focused on strategic priorities, assisting the Managing Director in developing and implementing the station’s strategic plan, and providing financial oversight, including auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
The letter further outlines that Mr. Kangar will support and participate in fundraising initiatives to secure financial resources for the station, ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, and provide guidance and support to the station’s executive staff, particularly the General Manager. He will also be responsible for addressing and mediating conflicts or issues that may arise within the institution.
Gibi FM 90.9MHz is one of Margibi County’s prominent community radio stations, playing a key role in information dissemination and public discourse. Management expressed confidence that Mr. Kangar’s experience and professional background will strengthen the station’s operations and impact.
