Bio:
Born on October 26, 1965, Veteran Journalist Frank Sainworla is an outstanding icon of ethical journalism whose integrity and independence remain venerably intact and unquestionable throughout his career. He is a beacon of hope for journalism in Liberia and Africa. When journalists with integrity are being named and revered in Liberia and Africa, Sainworla will be at the forefront of the queue. He must be honored, iconized, venerated, and remembered for his honesty, courage, fairness, truth-telling, and humility. Sainworla is our Personality of May 2024.
Why was he chosen?
Liberia’s foremost integrity journalist, Frank Sainworla, is still making an immense impact at age 58 since his debut as a freelance reporter for the Daily Observer in 1988 after graduating from the College of West Africa in 1985. In 1994, Sainworla earned a BA degree in Mass Communication from the State-run University of Liberia and later acquired a Graduate Certificate from the University of Missouri as a Hubert Humphrey Fellow of the U.S. State Department-sponsored Fellowship.

2001-2002: Editor – The Journalist Weekly Newspaper
2004-2005: Consultant, United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL)
2002-2008: Correspondent – Voice of America (VOA)
2003-2008: Correspondent – Pan African News Agency (PANA)
2002-2008: Assistant Station Manager/Radio Director – Radio Veritas
2008-2013: Head of English Desk – West Africa Democracy Radio (WADR)
2014-2015: Station Manager – Radio Veritas
As a lecturer of Mass Communication at the University of Liberia, Sainworla is still imparting and impacting in the classroom. As Managing Editor and Senior Media Partner, Sainworla runs the independent award-winning Public Trust Media Group (PTMG). Furthermore, he’s a board member of two of Liberia’s leading media organizations: the Center for Media Studies and Peacebuilding (CEMESP) and the Press Union of Liberia (PUL).
Sainworla deserves to be honored, celebrated, revered, and iconized by everyone because he’s an INGRETITY IDOL for Journalism and Journalists throughout Liberia and Africa. He has sacrificed his entire life to defend and protect ethical journalism – truth, independence, integrity, courage, humanity, and accountability.
