Monrovia, Liberia – Veteran Liberian sports journalist, Mr. Frank Loboe, affectionately known as DP or Dogg Palm, is facing a critical health crisis and has made a public appeal for urgent medical assistance. The former staff member of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has dedicated much of his life to serving the Liberian media industry, but now he is in desperate need of help to seek medical treatment abroad.
Mr. Loboe’s contribution to the media sector have been monumental, with years of dedicated work and influence at LBS, where he became a household name in the country’s journalistic landscape. As a seasoned journalist, he has provided insightful reports and has been an advocate for truth and transparency.
However, his current health condition has left him unable to continue his work and attend to his daily needs. In a heartfelt plea to the government, his colleagues, and the Liberian public, Mr. Loboe is requesting assistance to cover the costly expenses of medical treatment overseas.
“I’ve given my life to journalism and to the service of our people. Today, I am in dire need of help. I am suffering from a critical illness, and the medical attention I need is only available abroad. I kindly appeal to my country’s government, friends, and well-meaning Liberians to assist me in my time of need,” Mr. Loboe shared in his emotional appeal during an interview with Perspective Pro.
While Mr. Loboe has been a respected figure in Liberia’s media scene, the high costs of medical treatment abroad are a challenge for him and his family. He hopes that his appeal will rally the support of the Liberian public, the media fraternity, and philanthropic organizations to help cover the medical expenses that could save his life.
The government has yet to officially respond to Mr. Lobo’s appeal, but many hope that this will spark a collective effort to assist one of Liberia’s most enduring media personalities.
