The Head of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Liberia, Mr. Dale G. Gbotoe, has firmly dismissed widespread rumors regarding the release of the 2025 WASSCE results, labeling them as “misleading.”
Speaking at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT)’s regular press briefing on Tuesday, Gbotoe urged students, parents, and the general public to remain calm and await an official announcement.
“The information circulating does not accurately represent the current status of the WASSCE results,” he stated, stressing that the public should disregard any unofficial claims.
Gbotoe clarified that his presence at the press briefing was to address broader national issues, not to announce the release of results.
He cautioned the public against relying on unverified sources, emphasizing that only official statements from WAEC or MICAT should be trusted.
“The public should treat any information not officially confirmed with caution,” he warned.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and accuracy, Gbotoe assured that an official announcement will be made through the appropriate channels once the results are finalized.
He noted that the results are expected to be released on or before August 15, stating:
“We anticipate making an announcement either on August 12 or 15, depending on when the results are ready.”
In closing, Gbotoe called for patience and vigilance: “Don’t go by hearsay-wait for the official word.”
