Woman Confesses to Killing Former Lover in Margibi County

A woman identified as Naomi Dorbor has confessed to the killing of her former boyfriend, George Yango, in an incident that has left the Weala-Kakata Highway community in shock.

According to report, the tragic event occurred on the evening of Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Stewart Farm, where Naomi Dorbor resides. Dorbor, who is believed to be in her late 20s, admitted during police interrogation that she fatally assaulted her ex-boyfriend during a heated altercation.

The deceased, George Yango, reportedly in his late 50s, had allegedly gone to Dorbor’s residence in an attempt to rekindle their relationship – a gesture Dorbor strongly opposed. The confrontation between the two, who had been separated for over six months, escalated into quarrel, ultimately leading to Yango’s death.

In her statement to police, Dorbor refuted widespread media claims suggesting that she had requested Yango to her home. Instead, she stated that his repeated visits and what she described as continuous embarrassment led to her emotionally charged response. She admitted to physically attacking Yango with a stick, an act she now deeply regrets.

“I am sorry for what I did,” Dorbor reportedly told investigators. “I ask the family of George to forgive me.”

She is currently being held at the Kakata Central Prison as the case progresses to the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Kakata City.

Local residents expressed shock and sadness over the incident, describing both individuals as familiar faces in the community. The case continues to draw significant public attention as the community seeks justice for the life lost in this tragic domestic dispute.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and allow the judicial process to take its course.
