Monrovia – A 22-year-old resident of Congo Town, Momoh Davis, is currently receiving medical treatment at ELWA Hospital after reportedly being severely beaten and mutilated in the compound of a Chinese national known as “Chinese Michael.”
According to Davis’ mother, Watta Swary, her son was allegedly detained, brutalized, and left to suffer for three days in the compound before being handed over to the police. Swary, who can be reached at 0778120288, claimed that security guards from Pilot Security Guard Service, a private firm owned by former National Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) boss Abraham Kromah, carried out the assault on orders from the Chinese businessman.
She further alleged that after being beaten, Davis was locked in the compound and let out to Michael’s dogs, enduring three days of torture. Community residents reported that Momoh’s constant screams led to his eventual release when “Chinese Michael” turned him over to the police.
During a community meeting on Friday, February 7, 2025, Hilary Koffa, the legal representative of “Chinese Michael” defended his client, claiming that Davis allegedly attempted to steal solar lights from the compound. However, Koffa did not provide any evidence, such as security footage, to support this claim.
Furthermore, Madam Swary revealed that the police have not filed any charges against her son, raising concerns about the legitimacy of the theft accusation and the authorities’ handling of the case. It remains unclear whether an official investigation has been launched into the alleged assault.
