The Minister of Youth and Sports Atty. Cornelia W. Kruah has urged calm and strict adherence to international football regulations following a series of consultations with key stakeholders in Liberia’s football community.
The meetings, led by Youth and Sports Minister Atty. Cornelia W. Kruah, included separate engagements with prominent figures such as Mustapha Raji and Cassell Anthony Kuoh. The discussions form part of ongoing efforts to address governance concerns and maintain stability within the sport.
According to the Ministry, the consultations provided an opportunity to better understand differing perspectives and the issues shaping current discourse in Liberian football. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and proper administration in the sector.
In a statement, the Ministry reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to the statutes of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), stressing that compliance is vital to preserving the integrity and independence of football governance.
“Adherence to FIFA statutes remains essential to safeguarding the integrity, independence, and proper administration of football in the country,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry also emphasized the importance of respecting Liberia’s legal framework, pointing to the role of the Supreme Court of Liberia in resolving disputes and upholding the rule of law.
It urged all stakeholders to channel concerns through appropriate and recognized mechanisms, noting that constructive dialogue remains key to easing tensions and ensuring continuity in football governance.
“The Ministry encourages all stakeholders to pursue constructive engagement through appropriate channels, with a view to ensuring stability and continuity in football governance,” the statement added.
Highlighting the need for patience and mutual respect, the Ministry called for unity among stakeholders, stressing that cooperation is critical to the growth and development of football in Liberia.
As discussions continue, the government appealed to supporters and the public to remain calm and exercise restraint, expressing confidence that a measured approach will foster meaningful dialogue and sustainable outcomes.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, peaceful, and rules-based process, pledging continued engagement with stakeholders in the best interest of Liberian football.
