The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Grand Gedeh Detachment has intensified its operations, successfully targeting and shutting down key hotspots associated with illegal drug activities across the county.
The crackdown began on Tuesday, October 15, 2025.
During the initial phase of the ongoing operation, LDEA officers conducted raids at various locations, resulting in the discovery and seizure of several substances suspected to be illegal drugs.
Commander Papa Gompu of the LDEA Grand Gedeh detachment confirmed the operation to reporters, emphasizing that this is not a one-off event. He stated that the agency plans for the enforcement action to become a “continue process or normal routine” in Grand Gedeh County as part of the LDEA’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse.
The LDEA continues to monitor the situation and pursue further action against those involved in illicit drug trade.
