Monrovia, Liberia — Dozens of young supporters believed to be from the All Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP) staged a protest Monday at the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) headquarters, demanding the immediate resignation of Executive Director Ansu Dulley.
Chanting slogans such as “Ansu da rogue, rogue rogue, Ansu can steal, steal steal, Ansu da Zogo,” and “Let Ansu step down, he steals like a rat,” the demonstrators accused Mr. Dulley of corruption and nepotism.
The protestors allege that Dulley, who also serves as ALCOP Chairman, received two vehicles and US$7,000 on behalf of the party but failed to disclose or turn over the assets to ALCOP leadership. They further claimed that instead of appointing dedicated partisans to key positions, Dulley used his influence to install family members at the NDMA.
Mr. Dulley is currently under investigation by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) in connection with multiple allegations of financial misconduct.
When reached for comment, Dulley declined to go into detail but promised to issue an official response to the accusations on Tuesday.
