Rivercess Welcomes 20 Additional Police Officers, Says New Commander

Cestos City, Rivercess County – The newly assigned Commander of the Rivercess Police Detachment, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Elton Gofa, has disclosed the deployment of twenty (20) additional police officers to the county.

Speaking on a local radio program, ACP Gofa described the deployment as a major achievement under his leadership, noting that the increased manpower will strengthen law enforcement presence and service delivery in the area.

According to the commander, the Boegeezay and Sand Beach Police Depots have long been without officers, leaving communities vulnerable and under-policed. He said his persistent advocacy led to the national headquarters assigning the new officers, many of whom have already taken up duty at the two depots.

“My administration is committed to preventing and reducing crimes across Rivercess’ eight administrative districts,” ACP Gofa said. “We are determined to restore public confidence in the police by actively engaging with the community.”

To that end, the new police chief revealed plans to revive the Community Watch Forum, promote public safety awareness, and publish emergency contact numbers. These, he said, are steps toward building a proactive and responsive police force that operates with the community at heart.

Meanwhile, ACP Gofa has appealed to the Inspector General of Police and the national government for logistical support, including a vehicle and additional motorcycles, to enhance mobility and ensure timely response to incidents across the county.

He emphasized that with the right tools and community collaboration, the Rivercess Police Detachment can greatly improve security and uphold the rule of law.
