Fish Town, River Gee County – A tragic incident unfolded in the New Settlement Community of Fish Town City on Monday, July 14, 2025, as an 18-month-old girl, identified as Forlay, drowned in a nearby creek.
According to her mother, Vicky Toe, the toddler ( child age of 1-3 ) had been left in the care of other children while she went to the market. Upon returning home, Ms. Toe found her daughter unresponsive in the creek, just a short distance from their residence.
Authorities were immediately alerted. The Liberia National Police responded quickly and convened a 15-member jury to examine the circumstances. The jury ruled drowning as the cause of death, confirming there were no signs of foul play or external injuries.
